Grant Ideas for New Businesses in Las Vegas

We’re in the process today of establishing criteria for qualification for our Las Vegas small business grant program.

You need to have residency in the State of Nevada for at least one year. I think the university system requires at least one year to be accessible for financial aid here in Nevada. I think that’s a good criteria.

We want people who have exhausted every opportunity for business financing, whether it is SBA, state, county, or city grants and aid. Whether they’ve got a second on their home or whether they’ve dipped into their savings, we want people who know they have a great idea or have a great business plan and are looking for that help.

We’re looking for proprietary ideas. Something that absolutely we can get to market for them. We can scale it and we can sustain it. Potentially proprietary technology would be an advantage. Female-owned, minority-owned – absolutely.

We’re looking to push those underserved demographics to the forefront and get them the money because there’s some great ideas there. There are some big business ideas that need to get to market.

These are some of the things we’re working on, on a daily basis. And believe me, our days are 12 and 14 hours long. I’m also working in my business, Five Diamond Screening here in Las Vegas. We focus on background screenings and pre-employment background checks for the hospitality, leisure, and transportation industries. Since hiring in those industries are booming, we are too.

So this is part of the process. This is what we do every single day. I’m taking words and turning them into actionable items that help people, and fulfilling on that every single day.
